Usage Instructions:
Before starting heartworm treatment with Advocate, have your pet tested for existing heartworm infection. Consult your vet, weigh your pet, and select the appropriate pack based on your pet's weight. To apply, position your pet comfortably and expose a small area of skin between the shoulder blades and the base of the neck. Place the pipette tip on the skin and apply the entire contents, allowing it to dry. For small dogs, apply at one spot, while larger dogs may need 3-4 applications along the backbone starting from the base of the skull. Ensure children and other pets do not groom the treated pet until the application site is dry. Advocate's safety for breeding, pregnant, or lactating pets is unconfirmed, so consult your vet before use in these cases.
Precautions:
For pets younger than 7 weeks, or those allergic to its ingredients, avoid using this spot-on treatment. Keep children and other pets from interacting with the treated pet, and avoid contact with the pet's eyes and mouth. Do not smoke, eat, or drink while applying the treatment. Consult a vet before using on pregnant, sick, weak, lactating, or breeding pets. After application, wash and sterilize hands, and wear gloves during the application process.
